endings are also beginnings

This morning, I pulled up to work at Vista Charter Academy for the last time.

While it’s been a rollercoaster, there is so much I’ll miss. I’ve been given opportunities to grow, served our kiddos with an incredible team, been welcomed into so many classrooms, and found some of my very best friends. Some have left Vista before me, so there is comfort in knowing that leaving work doesn’t mean losing friendships - but it will be so different not to be down the hall from some of my favorite people.

I guess the point of all of this is to say thank you to those I’m leaving. Thank you, Pendell, for being an incredible teammate-turned-boss, for letting me share my feelings without worrying about how they’re delivered, and for making sure I survived my first year here. Thank you, Scott and Sam, for being two of my dearest friends and for welcoming me into your home. Thank you to the whole pickleball crew for letting me play even when I’m not that good at it. Perhaps the biggest thank you goes to two of my best friends, Bak and Meadows - for countless movie nights and afternoons at Founders, for listening to infinite rants and delusions, for pushing me towards adventure, and for always being a safe place to land. Y’all are truly the greatest gifts this place has given me and I am so so grateful.
