end of an era

And THESE TWO HUMANS. Two years of Bak taking in all of my verbal processing, telling me it’s all going to be okay, and always being there in the few times it wasn’t going to be okay. Within a month of knowing her, I went through a tough few weeks and she somehow found out my favorite snacks and treats and surprised me one morning with an encouraging note and a basket of my favorite things. She is the kind of friend and coworker everyone needs.

Four years of Pendell rushing to peek through the window of my classroom door whenever it was a little too loud to make sure I was still alive 😂 Four years of him taking my sassy comments in stride and of listening to him endlessly quote movies. Four years of knowing he’ll always have my back, always make sure I’m safe and sane, always ask me to spell check important emails, and never know what to do when I’m crying. We’ve got this work brother/sister bit down.

I am endlessly grateful for the two years of calling you two my team. Thank you for being with me in the highest and lowest points of my teaching career so far. I’m glad I’m not going too far because I’m definitely not ready to leave y’all.
